местоположение - LokasiDalam memelajari tata bahasa Rusia, biasanya yang banyak dipelajari di awal adalah kasus-kasus mudah seperti halnya perubahan yang terjadi pada kata kerja dalam kalimat, dan kemudian kasus mengenai kata tempat atau lebih dikenal sebagai preposisi.
 Kalimat yang mengandung kasus preposisi ini sangat sering digunakan dalam percakapan. Dalam kalimat preposisi biasanya ada terdapat kata bantu  "в" (di / di dalam), "на" (di / di atas). Selain itu, kasus preposisi juga terjadi pada kata yang menggunakan kata bantu "о" (tentang).
 Dalam kalimat yang mengandung kasus preposisi, kata tempat (termasuk juga kata benda yang terkena kasus ini) biasanya diakhiri dengan:
Kata tempat/kata benda maskulin:
- huruf konsonan akhir di tambah akhiran "-е"
  contoh: ресторан => в ресторане, музей => в музее,  стол => на столе, dan seterusnya.
- khusus untuk beberapa kata terdapat perkecualian, sehingga tidak menggunakan akhiran "-e"  , melainkan menggunakan akhiran "-у"
  contoh: угол => в углу, пол => на полу, лес => в лесу, dan juga beberapa kata lainnnya (tidak terlalu banyak).
 Kata tempat/kata benda netral:
- akhiran "-о" diganti menjadi "-е"
  contoh:  село => на селе,
- аkhiran "-e" tetap, tidak berubah.
   contoh: море => в море,
- khusus untuk kata serapan, biasanya tidak terkena kasus dan tidak mengalami perubahan apa-apa.
  contoh: метро => в метро, кино => в кино
Kata tempat/kata benda feminin:
- jika berakhiran "-а" diganti menjadi "-е", dan atau "-я" diganti menjadi "-и".
  contoh: Джакарта => в Джакарте, комната => в комнате, Россия => в России
Menggunakan kalimat yang mengandung kasus preposisional
Dalam menggunakan kalimat yang mengandung kasus preposisi ini, Orang Rusia biasanya memiliki ukuran tersendiri dalam penggunaan "в" dan "на".
Kata "в" (di/di dalam) biasa digunakan ketika tempat yang dimaksudkan mengacu pad
a wilayah yang cakupannya luas, bangunan, ruang tertutup, atau menunjukkan posisi "di dalam" suatu tempat.
contoh: в России (di Rusia), в школе (di sekolah), в лаборатории (di dalam laboratorium), в столе (di dalam meja, mungkin di laci atau yang pasti bukan di atas meja).
Kata "на" (di/pada/di atas) biasa digunakan ketika tempat yang dimaksudkan mengacu pada wilayah yang cakupannya lebih sempit/kecil, tempat terbuka, ruang terbuka, atau menunjukkan posisi "di atas".
contoh: на деревне (di desa), на улице (di jalan), на концерте (pada sebuah pertunjukkan musik/konser), на столе (di atas meja).
Untuk menanyakan posisi seseorang biasanya menggunakan kata tanya "Где".
Perhatikan kata di bawah ini:
- Где вы живёте (Di mana Anda tinggal?) - Я живу в Москве (Saya tinggal di Moskow).
- Где он? (Dimana dia?) - Сейчас он в лесу - (Sekarang dia sedang di hutan).
atau juga bisa menggunakan kata tanya "Что" dalam bentuk kalimat seperti ini:
- Что на столе? (Apa yang ada di meja?) - Книга на столе (Sebuah buku yang ada di atas meja)

стадион - stadion
школа - sekolah
библиотека - perpustakaan
кафе - kafe
площадь - lapang luas
